Suuns' new "Translate" single, from their forthcoming Hold/Still, isn't exactly the most comforting of tracks to begin with, but the band have just unveiled a shadowy remix of the tune ahead of the album release. Prepped, most fittingly, by Dark Sky, the "Pressure Remix" is streaming now.
The re-envisioned piece takes a more direct and unsettling darkwave approach to the original arrangement, phasing out some of the twitchy six-string elements of the album version in favour of a more streamlined sense of synth-driven dread.
Dark Sky explained in a statement of the change: "The 'Pressure Remix' is one for the floor. We thought it would be cool to strip the original elements down to their bare bones to give them room to breath on a club system."
Danceable yet doomy, Dark Sky's remix can be streamed below.
As previously reported, Hold/Still sees release April 15 through Secret City in Canada and Secretly Canadian in the U.S. The band have a series of North American tour dates coming up as well, and they've just added a chunk of new U.S. dates to their schedule.
