One of three men charged in connection with Mac Miller's death has entered a plea of not guilty in the case.
Cameron James Pettit, 28, faces the charge of conspiring to distribute controlled substances resulting in death and distribution of fentanyl resulting in death.
Pettit entered a not guilty plea on Thursday (October 10) in Los Angeles federal court. He is set to stand trial on November 26.
Prosecutors in the case allege that Pettit sold Miller the counterfeit oxycodone containing fentanyl, leading to a fatal overdose.
Two other men have been arrested in relation to Miller's death: Ryan Reavis and Stephen "Stevie" Walter. Prosecution believes that the two men were involved in distributing the fentanyl-laced oxycodone to Pettit, who then sold it to Miller. Walter's arraignment is coming up this month on October 31, while Reavis awaits his own.
Miller died in 2018 from an overdose at the age of 26. He was set to head out on tour less than a month later in support of his final album, Swimming.
Miller was open about his history of substance abuse, both in interviews and on his own recordings. In 2013, he revealed that he had developed an addiction to promethazine/codeine while using lean while touring behind his Macadelic mixtape in 2012. He said he overcame his addiction that same year.
