Suspect208 Officially Call It Quits

After a few short months of rock'n'roll hijinks, a handful of singles and a drug scandal, the promising young musicians known as Suspect208 have officially called it quits.

The group — formed by Slash's son London Hudson, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo's son Tye Trujillo and guitarist Niko Tsangaris — announced their split today via Wall of Sound, explaining that vocalist Cody Houston has had to take a step back from the group after learning that he and his girlfriend are expecting a baby.

Rather than replace their frontman again (the band originally included frontman Noah Weiland, son of the late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland), Tsangaris explained that they would rather dissolve the band in order to focus on their side-projects: Tsangaris and Hudson's S8NT ELEKTRIC, and Trujillo's various metal projects.

"We decided to end it because Tye left and Cody left to be a dad and we didn't want to keep dividing up our fan base by getting new people," Tsangaris told WoS. "We're starting a clean slate with [S8NT ELEKTRIC] and we're all very excited about it. There's some amazing musicians in that band and we're all very driven!"

The split appears amicable, with Trujillo reflecting the same optimism for the future in a statement of his own: "They're all great guys. It was an awesome experience playing with them and knowing people digged what we did."

Both S8NT ELEKTRIC and Trujillo's band OTTTO are scheduled to perform at this year's BottleRock festival in Napa Valley. While we wait to hear more from the young rockers, listen to some recent offerings from both bands below.
