Published Mar 17, 2010Director Matt Bissonnette's latest film Passenger Side stars Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Party Down) and Joel Bissonnette (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as a pair of brothers who have some mischievous experiences while driving around Los Angeles. To celebrate the film's release, a special screening will be taking place at the Royal Theatre in Toronto on April 7. Along with a screening of the film, Superchunk's Mac McCaughan and Jim Wilbur will be treating audiences to an intimate acoustic set.
The film features an impressive soundtrack, with contributions from Leonard Cohen, Dinosaur Jr., D.O.A., Guided by Voices, Islands, the Mountain Goats, Silver Jews, Smog, Superchunk, Chad VanGaalen, Wilco and Young Marble Giants, among others.
McCaughan, who served as a music consultant on the film and previously scored Bissonnette's Looking for Leonard and Who Loves the Sun, will also be joining the director for a question and answer period after the film.
In a press release, McCaughan praised Bissonnette, saying "Working on the music for Matt's movies has always been a rewarding process because the music is as important to Matt as any other aspect of the films, but also because he approaches film making with the same spirit that we've always approached making music and putting out records."
Tickets for this rare event will go on sale tomorrow (March 18) at this site. They'll also be available at Soundscapes and Rotate This. A trailer for Passenger Side is available below.
