When we last checked in on Simian Mobile Disco late last year, the status of the follow-up to 2007's Attack Decay Sustain Release was still unknown. The duo had said it was coming and that there would be some guests but that was all they were really giving us to go on at the time. Well, now they're giving us a lot more, such as an album title, release date and a list of guest stars that include Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Gossip's Beth Ditto, Jamie Lidell and Telepathe.
For a title, SMD are going with Temporary Pleasure and will release the record on August 17 in the UK via Wichita. Before that, lead-off single "Audacity of Huge" will be released on August 3 and will feature yet another guest star: Yeasayer's Chris Keating.
There's no word yet of a North American release date but there is a confirmed tracklisting, which looks like this:
