Aside from a brief sabbatical in 2009, the Victory Square Block Party has been an annual hotspot for Vancouver music lovers looking to get one last blast of summertime fun before the school year hits. As expected, the Labour Day weekend festival is coming back this September with a host of homegrown talent ready to rock you into the next season.

A Facebook post from organizers, who also have a hand in the Music Waste festival, confirms that the outdoor event returns to Victory Square (200 West Hastings St.) on September 4. The free event begins in the early afternoon and runs through the night.

Headlining the gig will be anthemic, arena-styled rockers Sun Wizard, with other BC performers including Edmonton expats Hot Panda, hardcore heroes B-Lines, Men at Adventure, My Friend Wallis, Peace and Bleating Hearts. DJ sets from Teen Daze, Blood Diamonds and the Glory Days crew will also be featured in between sets.
