Suicide City Frenzy

Suicide City Frenzy
When learning that Suicide City are partially comprised of ex-members of hardcore tough guy outfit Biohazard and Canadian metal maidens Kittie, one would expect something heavy, given such credentials. But instead this release relies more on synthesizers and dance beats than chugging guitars and double bass. In a vein similar to Mindless Self Indulgence, Suicide City mix industrial pop with metal by adding keyboards and electronic samples over guitars drowning in effects and overproduced vocals. Granted, every song on the album is unique and it appears the band made great use out of their studio post-production time by carefully placing each additional electronic beat and sample in place but Frenzy as a whole needs more substance, in terms of song craft, and should be less dependent on the short trance intros used on the majority of the disc's 15 tracks.
