Sufjan Stevens Joins Forces with Son Lux and Serengeti for New Project
Last year, we reported that Sufjan Stevens was working with the National's Bryce Dessner and avant-garde composer Nico Muhly on a song cycle for trombones and strings, and now the orchestral pop songwriter has announced another collaborative project.

This time, Sufjan has teamed up with Son Lux and rapper Serengeti for a new EP. The project is called s / s / s, and their four-track debut has the title of Beak & Claw, which is due out on March 20 through Anticon (the label both Son Lux and Serengeti are signed to).

Don't expect this project to be a return to the folksy, banjo-driven style that was once Sufjan's trademark. A press release notes that the track "Museum Day" opens with "a swath of AutoTuned heartache courtesy of Sufjan, cresting with the darkly detailed raps of Geti, and closing in a hail of crashing cymbals, orchestral glitch and haunted coos from Son Lux." Elsewhere, the EP contains fuzz bass, falsetto pop hooks, spoken word, and "aural chaos."

My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden contributes vocals to the song "If This Is Real," while Doseone appears on "Octomom." See the tracklist below.

Beak & Claw:

1. Museum Day

2. Beyond Any Doubt

3. If This Is Real

4. Octomom
