It's pretty stressful stuff, so it's nice to know that Sufjan Stevens and his Asthmatic Kitty cohorts have returned with more of their special Christmas music.
Following up his excellent five-disc box set Songs For Christmas from two years ago, Sufjan has built a custom Christmas section of the Asthmatic Kitty site. Complete with a videogame, e-card, Christmas ornament crafts, ringtones, song downloads and two music videos for "Put The Lights On The Tree," the site has enough holiday cheer for even the grumpiest last minute shoppers. The whole shebang can be viewed here.
The latest addition to Stevens' annual holiday albums has also surfaced. Titled Songs For Christmas Vol. 8: Astral Inter Planet Space Captain Christmas Infinity Voyage, the seven-track album contains the usual mix of holiday classics and new songs. While no official release has been announced, word on the street is that the album is available on some peer-to-peer networks. Just be careful though, as you might end up on the naughty list.
