Following the release of two singles from their first collaborative record, Sufjan Stevens and his stepfather Lowell Brams have shared another Aporia track, "Climb That Mountain."
Keeping with the mantra of the forthcoming "new age" album, "Climb That Mountain" is largely an atmospheric track accented by minimal vocals. According to Stevens and Brams's label, Asthmatic Kitty, the sparse lyrics that do appear are as follows: "aaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaWAAAAAAAAAAaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaOOoooooOOoooooooooOoohhhhhh oooooOOOOOHHHHHoohhhhhhhhhhh."
Aporia arrives March 27 via Asthmatic Kitty. "Climb That Mountain" follows two singles from the effort, "The Unlimited" and "The Runaround," the latter of which received an especially tricky music video from YouTube user @abutta492.

The 21 songs on Aporia are tightly crafted, resonating with a gem-like intensity. In the spirit of the New Age composers who sanded off the edges of their synths' sawtooth waves, Aporia approximates a rich soundtrack from an imagined sci-fi epic brimming with moody, hooky, gauzy synthesizer soundscapes. The album may suggest the progeny of a John Carpenter, Wendy Carlos, and Mike Oldfield marriage, but it stands apart from these touchstones and generates a meditative universe all its own.
Aporia will mark Stevens's first full-length follow-up to 2017's collaborative Planetarium and 2015's highly acclaimed Carrie and Lowell before that.
