Sufjan Stevens has been releasing a steady string of home demos recently, the latest of which is an old acoustic cut called "Jamila."
Stevens made this four-track recording more than a decade ago for his sister Jamila's birthday, and he posted it along with the message, "Happy Belated Birthday. Forever Young. Stay Classy." He estimated that it came out around 1998, and while it sounds unmistakably like Sufjan, there's no question that his songs have gotten much more confident and ambitious over the years.
