Martin Scorsese's period crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon just got a whole lot more country — Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson have officially signed on to act in the film.

The movie follows wealthy members of the Osage Nation who were murdered over oil deposits beneath their land in 1920s Oklahoma. Isbell will play Bill Smith, the husband of one of the killed Osage women, and Simpson will play Henry Grammer, a bootlegger/rodeo contestant.

The country musicians will join the film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins and Jillian Dion.

Last year, Killers of the Flower Moon was picked up by Apple. The movie has yet to get a firm release date, but we do know that its runtime will rival Marty's longer flicks at three full hours.

As previously reported, Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a 2017 non-fiction book by David Grann.

Scorsese previously said about the forthcoming movie: "When I read David Grann's book, I immediately started seeing it — the people, the settings, the action — and I knew that I had to make it into a movie. I'm so excited to be working with Eric Roth and reuniting with Leo DiCaprio to bring this truly unsettling American story to the screen."
