The Strumbellas

"End of an Era" (video)

BY Duncan BoydPublished Oct 21, 2013

Toronto alt-country outfit the Strumbellas are set to release their sophomore album We Still Move On Dance Floors on October 22. The band have already released lead-off single "In This Life," and they've now dropped a well-choreographed single-shot video for album cut "End of an Era."

In one extended take, the band jam out the catchy folk-pop number while a strategically placed camera rotates in the centre of the room. Each time the camera comes around, you'll notice that something has changed, be it the band members' clothing, the addition of a dancing astronaut or the sudden appearance of Sum 41's Cone McCaslin on bass. As the song crescendos with horns and strings toward its end, the scene turns into an all out surrealist party, complete with balloons, action figures and a roomful of dancers, both young and old.
