Streetwalkin' Cheetahs

Waiting For The Death Of My Generation

BY Craig DanielsPublished Jun 1, 2001

The punk rock'n'roll genre has been "officially" rolling along for quite a few years now, and bands like the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs keep on putting out albums of straight-ahead songs. Unfortunately, most of the bands lack any real personality or character, and a lot of them either end up sounding like a less interesting Dead Boys or a slick side project featuring Guns N' Roses members playing the Viper room to keep their "street cred" intact. The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs fall into the second category, with no real danger or hooks in their overproduced sound at all. The whole album is ultra-tame mid-to-fast tempo rock with bland vocals that maintain a laid-back vibe at all times. From the sound of this record, the wildest thing that might happen at one of their shows is one of their on-stage Evian bottles might get knocked over.
