Today, folk-pop four-piece Wild Rivers — a group comprising co-lead vocalists Khalid Yassein and Devan Glover, guitarist Andrew Oliver, and drummer Julien Laferrière — have released their brand new EP Songs to Break Up To. Courtesy of Nettwerk, you can now listen to the entirety of the new record here at Exclaim!

With Songs to Break Up To, the group follow up their 2018 EP Eight-Eight with a collection of songs that transposes "personal experiences into relatable anthems," following the end of singer Yassein's long-term relationship.

"We decided to lean into the theme and make the EP an exploration of the topic, what the different sides of a breakup are, and what the feelings are," Yassein said in a statement. "These include the good and the bad, the acceptance and the sadness, and the new freedom. We wanted to write a collection of songs covering the spectrum of what you feel going through the end of a relationship."

He continued: "The EP was very personal for me specifically, but building it out with the band was a big step for all of us as friends. I spend 95 percent of my time with my bandmates. We're a family, so we go through everything together."

Recording Songs to Break Up To, the band headed out from the comfort of their homestead in Toronto to make their way to Nashville in order to collaborate with producer Skylar Wilson of Creative Workshop, where legendary artists like Jimmy Buffett, Roy Orbison, Merle Haggard and Dolly Parton have all claimed their stake on the music industry.

"In this collection, there's something for everybody," vocalist Glover said of the record. "The songs span different genres and vibes. We hope there's something that can connect with you in terms of the music and the message."

Wild Rivers are currently set to head on a North American tour this summer. You can find their full schedule over at the band's official website.
