Stream Espanola's New Self-Titled Record
Espanola is the project of Canadian super-collaborator Aaron Goldstein, and he's just shared a preview of his new self-titled album.

Goldstein has played pedal steel with the likes of City and Colour, Cowboy Junkies, Daniel Romano, Kathleen Edwards, Bry Webb, Matt Mays, Elliott Brood and Lee Harvey Osmond, but this project hears him taking the lead.

The songs on Espanola were partly recorded in Saskatchewan back in 2014, while the rest were recorded in Toronto between 2016 and 2019. It even features 2017 singles "Ever Kind and True" and "Everyone You Know."

"The album is an amalgam of music I've been writing and recording, mostly for myself, for more than 10 years," Goldstein tells Exclaim! "The title cut is the oldest song and was written in 2009. I realize that a lot of people probably associate me with alt-country or folk music, and I still love doing that stuff, but this is undoubtedly a rock record chock full of riffs and guitar solos."

He added, "I love putting together a song that feels good; I love taking the standard electric guitar for a spin now and again. I hope both of those things are evident on this record."
