Stratovarius

Intermission

BY Greg PrattPublished Aug 1, 2001

This is a full-length EP to tide Stratovarius fans over while the band takes a break to pursue other projects. Intermission contains a bunch of previously available but hard to find tracks that are of normal Stratovarius quality: top-notch, classy and melodic power metal. Also, we get Priest and Rainbow covers (yawn), a couple live songs and a few brand new ones. Highlights? New track "The Curtains are Falling" and a live version of favourite "Hunting High & Low." Complaints: way too many ballads, predictable song structures that gets annoying after a while and the entire album is too long. With one finger planted firmly on the "skip" button, this release is sure to please Stratovarius fans old and new.
