Strange Wilds Sign to Sub Pop

Sub Pop has branched out over the years, releasing everything from folk to rap to comedy, but the Seattle label's latest signing puts it right back in its wheelhouse: noisy rock from the Pacific Northwest. They've signed Olympia trio Strange Wilds.

An announcement from Sub Pop points out that the band formed in 2012, bringing together members of punk and hardcore bands like Negative Press, Outlook, Wreck, and more. They released their four-song Wet 7-inch through Inimical Records earlier this year.

The band haven't yet announced their first release for the label, but this worldwide record deal will apparently yield new music in 2015. In the meantime, the scorchingly loud and distorted Wet can be streamed in full below.
