Portland-formed indie band Strange Ranger (formerly known as Sioux Falls) have broken up.

They shared the news on Instagram today, writing, "Pure Music will be the last Strange Ranger album," in reference to their third LP released in July. "Thank you so much for listening to the music and coming out to shows for all these years — it means the world. See u on the other side."

Getting their start in 2009 as Sioux Falls, the band released one album under that banner (2016's Rot Forever) before changing their name to Strange Ranger in 2017. They went on to release two albums — 2017's Daymoon and 2019's Remembering the Rockets — as well as a mixtape called No Light in Heaven in 2021 ahead of putting out Pure Music this year.
