Stones Throw Unveils 'The Minimal Wave Tapes: Volume Two'

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 11, 2012

In late 2009, Stones Throw teamed up with Minimal Wave Records to release The Minimal Wave Tapes: Volume One, a collection of outsider synth pop from the '70s and '80s. With a seemingly endless well of source material, we're happy to announce that they've prepared a second volume.

Primarily focused on music released in the '80s, the compilation also includes Geneva Jacuzzi's "The Sleep Room," which was released in 2004. Aside from that, music from all over the world is represented, including Canada's own Omaha, who contribute the 1984 song "The Drum."

The Minimal Wave Tapes: Volume Two will be available on February 27 via Stones Throw. More information on the release can be found here, while Philippe Laurant's "Distortion" can be streamed below.
