Stevie Wonder revealed he will be undergoing surgery for a kidney transplant this fall, after which he will be going on hiatus from live performances.

The singer shared the news during his Hyde Park set in London, U.K., on Saturday night (July 6).

"I'm going to be doing three shows then taking a break," Wonder told the crowd. "I'm having surgery. I'm going to have a kidney transplant at the end of September this year."

Wonder assured fans he has found a donor and he would be just fine, but the musician didn't want his followers hearing about the upcoming procedure through the grapevine.

"I came here to give you my love and to thank you for your love," he said. "You ain't gonna hear no rumours about nothing. I'm good."

Wonder did not reveal any further information about the medical condition that requires the transplant.
