Stereolab Announce New Posthumous Album, Laetitia Sadier Solo LP

In 2009, long-running electronic indie pioneers Stereolab broke up the amicable way, announcing that they would be going on "hiatus/sabbatical/pause/intermission/breather." The announcement went on to explain that the band would be releasing a collection of songs recorded alongside their 2008 full-length Chemical Chords, and that collection now has a proper name and release date.

Originally called Chemical Chords 2, the new collection of Stereolab jams has been re-dubbed Not Music, and will see the light of day through Drag City on November 16, according to Pitchfork. The release is being touted as a new Stereolab album, and will be available on CD or double vinyl, so expect a comprehensive collection of songs.

As if that wasn't enough, Drag City will also release the debut album from the band's Laetitia Sadier. That album doesn't have a title yet, but it's due out on September 21. Six of Sadier's songs, presumably from that album, can be heard on her MySpace page.
