Steely Dan co-founder and guitarist Walter Becker passed away last September, but he will now be honoured posthumously later this year with a New York street set to be named after him.

The street, located in the Forest Hills section of Queens, will be co-named Walter Becker Way. A street sign will officially be unveiled October 28 at the corner of 112th Street and 72nd Drive. You can see a mock-up above.

A press release notes that the October 28 unveiling will be accompanied by a ceremony featuring special guests and remembrances from Becker's friends and colleagues.

"Walter's fans have decades of experience holding 'Danfests' throughout the country," Becker's widow Delia said in a statement. "They always find innovative and eclectic ways of celebrating. It will undoubtedly be a fun and free gathering to honor and commemorate Walter as only they can!"

Becker passed away September 3, 2017. He was 67. Additional announcements about the street sign unveiling can be found through the event's website.
