Statues

We're Disparate

BY Sam SutherlandPublished Aug 21, 2009

Another strong single from one of Canada's best punk bands, We're Disparate continues in the strong power pop tradition established by the band's stacked back catalogue. A powerful mix of Buzzcocks' pop drive, the energetic, modern delivery of the Exploding Hearts and something strange that can only be born out of hours spent practicing in Sudbury basements, "We're Disparate" is another great Statues song. It's easily the strongest here, although the fast-paced wallop of "Young Enough" is a close second, and lead-off b-side "To The Top!" is a fun, chant-filled punk ode to notions of perfection.
