Statics

Original 1980 Punk Rock Recordings

BY Rob FerrazPublished May 1, 2001

Although the suburban wasteland that is Mississauga, ON isn't recognised as much of a punk rock town, bands like the Statics pop up once in a while to challenge that notion. The three songs on this were recorded back in 1980, in two different sessions with two slightly different line-ups. The music is influenced by the punk rock of the time, mainly Teenage Head and the Forgotten Rebels. Also included are extensive liner notes by former M.S.I. guitarist Glenn Salter, covering the history of this short-lived outfit. And, as always, this is limited, only 800 copies were pressed so all you collector geeks get them before they're gone.
