Stars Share Cover of Beyoncé's "Hold Up"

Not everyone has been respecting Queen Bey as of late, but Canadian indie popsters Stars are letting their love for Beyoncé show with a cover version of Lemonade cut "Hold Up."

"Why did we cover this Beyoncé song?" reads a statement from the band. "Because we love it. Because she's the queen of pop and we're not. Because it's, very oddly, right in Torq's singing range. We don't know. We don't know anything anymore … At least there's this: A song about love. It's all we've ever had. It is all we will ever have. And we are fools to have counted on anything else. Happy last summer on earth everyone. Beyoncé has got you."

Amy Millan, Torquil Campbell and co. recently released another cover tune with a take on Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" as part of their ongoing covers series. Right now, though, take a listen to their rendition of "Hold Up" below.

Tour dates:

08/12 Niagra-On-The-Lake, ON – Jackson Triggs Amphitheatre
08/13 Sudbury, ON – Up Here Festival
09/16 Fredericton, NB – Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival
