Stalley

Savage Journey to the American Dream

BY Gregory DrakesPublished Mar 30, 2012

Stalley takes us on a journey with his latest. With appearances from Wale, Curren$y, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and 2 Chainz, the Ohio MC keeps to his BCG (Blue Collar Gang) roots while still managing to deliver his signature Midwest sound. While Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music) will forever go down as one of Stalley's early crowning jewels, Savage Journey to the American Dream keeps the bar high without losing its identity, especially with the roster of features on this project. "Hammers and Vogues," "Party Heart" and "Hells Angels American Heathens" offer that trill-boy fly, while the Chad Hugo-produced "Everything New" offers us a new layer of Stalley we haven't seen. The man known by many as "the working man's MC" manages to remain humble as his star continues to rise. While Stalley is on his journey to grow and develop that signature sound, Savage Journey to the American Dream is a mixtape that's worth the listen.
