St. Vincent Returns With Second Album

St. Vincent Returns With Second Album
Annie Clark has announced she's coming back at us with her second St. Vincent record, Actor. Due out May 5 via 4AD, the album will mark her first since 2007's Mary Me and, with the exception of the odd helping hand, finds this Sufjan homegirl basically doing the entire thing on her lonesome.

With some co-production courtesy of John Congleton (Black Mountain, Modest Mouse, Polyphonic Spree), Clark wrote and arranged all 11 of the album's tracks, playing guitar, bass, keys and, of course, doing the vocals. Actor also has some additional players providing some fancy stuff around the edges, such as French horn, sarongi, percussion, violin and the like, but overall, it's pretty much the Annie Clark show.

And what's in store on this St. Vincent record? Well, according to a statement from Clark: "I wanted to make these songs technicolour animatronic rides." (We'll leave it up to you to figure out what she means by that.)

The album's first single, "Actor Out of Work," will be released April 20, and St. Vincent eventually plans to announce full-fledged North American and European tours. For now, here's the tracklisting:

1. "The Strangers"
2. "Save Me From What I Want"
