Published Mar 14, 2012We hope that you've started saving your money, since Record Store Day is a little more than a month away, and the lineup of exclusive releases coming to independent record stores on April 21 is already impressive, to say the least. Now, the latest artist to announce a RSD exclusive is art pop songwriter St. Vincent.
The songwriter also known as Annie Clark will be putting out a new seven-inch featuring two curiously titled new songs: "KROKODIL" and "GROT." It will come out on red vinyl through 4AD.
According to an announcement from the label, the release "showcases Clark's aggressive guitar chops and marks a stylistic departure from Strange Mercy."
In other St. Vincent news, she will be releasing her very own 4AD Session through iTunes on April 10. This is the downloadable audio version of a video session that already hit the web last year. See the five-song tracklist below, and scroll past that to watch the video.
Also, Pitchfork reports that the 4AD Session will be included in a deluxe CD edition of Strange Mercy, which will arrive on May 8. That release will include a DVD featuring the session, along with the music videos for "Cruel" and "Cheerleader."
St. Vincent will be playing some worldwide tour dates in the coming months, but not in Canada. See her schedule here.
