Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, had a pretty remarkable year in 2011, with her album Strange Mercy gracing nearly every best-of list, including the runner-up spot on Exclaim!'s 30 Best Pop & Rock Albums. Last night (January 16) Clark was the musical guest on Conan, delivering a solid performance of "Cheerleader" from the aforementioned acclaimed album.
She kicked off the song by paying homage to Elvis Costello's 1977 SNL performance of "Radio Radio," which probably left more than a few audience members bewildered, but nonetheless won them over with "Cheerleader."
