Published Oct 28, 2011Just because 4AD released an LP collecting some of the highlights of their 4AD Sessions, this doesn't mean that the label is going to stop recording its artists during intimate live performances. The latest act to film a mini-concert for the storied record company is St. Vincent, who played four cuts from her recent Strange Mercy.
According to an announcement on Beggars Group's website, directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard were inspired by the "the memory of seeing a 1968 Shirley Bassey performance of 'This Is My Life' on Rai Uno for Italian TV." This means that the band is performing in front of a large projection of songwriter Annie Clark's face.
