Spoon's Britt Daniel honoured both the late David Bowie and George Harrison this year, before he and the rest of the band crashed a Spoon cover band's set back in the summer. Now, it seems like Spoon are gearing up to give their fans something else to be excited about.
The group released a teaser image on Instagram, spawning rumours that a new album could be on the way soon. The picture features a black-and-white skull, and in addition to being shared on Spoon's official Instagram and website, the same photo was also posted by Matador Records.
If a new album is indeed on the way, it will mark the follow-up to 2014's They Want My Soul. Spoon also released a 10th anniversary edition of 2005's Gimme Fiction last year.
Furthermore, fans of the TV show Shameless got a taste of new material from the band this week, as a new track titled "I Ain't the One" appeared on the latest (and possibly last for a while) episode. You can hear the song by watching a clip from the show below, as well as a full-track version beyond that.
