Spike Jonze Recruits the Sads, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner and Flea for New Short Film

For his highly anticipated and ultimately satisfying Where the Wild Things Are adaptation, hipster director Spike Jonze had Yeah Yeah Yeahs front-woman Karen O create a band called Karen O and the Kids, which included members of Deerhunter and frequent collaborator Imaad Wasif. The project was a massive success, earning a Grammy nod.

Naturally, Jonze chose a similar route for his new project, recruiting the Sads' Aska Matsumiya to write new material in collaboration with Red Hot Chilli Pepper bassist Flea and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner. The film, a short piece commissioned by Absolut Vodka, is called I'm Here, and as the film's official site reads, "is a 30-minute love story about the relationship between two robots living in L.A."

The film, complete with its soundtrack, will be released online in March. In the meantime, the song "There Are Many of Us" can be heard on the trailer, which is streamable below. The track is also currently available on iTunes via Manimal Vinyl.
