Speedy Ortiz have already given their fans a lot to look forward to, as they recently announced an album called Foil Deer. Now, the Massachusetts indie rockers are adding to the excitement by booking a tour and sharing new song off the album.
The tour will keep the band busy throughout the spring. Following a Toronto show this Thursday (February 12), they will resume touring in the U.S. in April. From there, they will remain on the road for a couple of months, and the trip includes stops in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. See the schedule below.
Also below, hear the newly unveiled Foil Deer cut "Raising the Skate" [via The Fader]. It begins with anxious, angular guitar riffs, but venues into more melodic terrain once the vocals enter, with the arrangement drawing on a '90s-style tension between loud riffs and tuneful singing.
Foil Deer is due out on April 21 through Carpark Records.
