The Specials Postpone Toronto Show over "Emergency Medical Ailment"

Toronto, ON has been waiting almost 30 years for the return of two-tone/ska heroes the Specials, who reformed just over a year ago and have been enjoying a strong revival. Unfortunately, the show, slated to take place tonight (April 19) at the Sound Academy, has been postponed.

Details are few and far between, with promoters Collective Concerts only stating that there was "an emergency medical ailment" within the band. Nothing has been posted on either the Specials' official website nor their Myspace page

As per the official announcement from the promoter, shows in New York will continue as planned and the Hogtown date has already been tentatively rescheduled for the fourth week of August, "pending clearing dates/holds at the Sound Academy... we hope to announce the re-scheduled date this Friday afternoon (April 23)."

All original tickets will be honoured for the August 2010 date. Those unable to attend will be offered full refunds at original point-of-sale commencing today (April 19) and running until the end of June.

The release also reads: "Please don't email any of us or call looking for more info as there is isn't any to give other than I'm personally emotionally heartbroken over the postponement and so are all the Specials, who have been here since Saturday night ready to skank out - but since we've all been waiting 29 years for this re-birth, what's a couple of more months?"
