Toronto post-hardcore players Sparrows have announced they'll spread their wings and issue a new EP this summer, marking their first release for new label home New Damage Records.

The quartet are the latest band to join the label, whose roster includes fellow Canadian acts like Silverstein, Cancer Bats and the Flatliners, as well as international artists like Architects and Northlane. According to Sparrows, being part of the New Damage flock is a good fit for them.

"We are very excited about being a part of the New Damage family," vocalist/guitarist Dan Thomson said in a statement. "To be among the bands on their roster, and have their logo on the back of our record is truly an honour that can't be put into words"

The band are expected to issue an EP sometime this summer, but not much else is known about the project at the moment. While neither the record's title nor its tracklisting has surfaced, the release follows the group's Goliath EP from 2011 and their Cold Ground LP, which had been served up in 2013 through Broken Heart/Kat Kat Records.
