Distorted Ghost

BY Roman SokalPublished May 1, 2000

Distorted Ghost immediately escorts you deep into the brilliant, imaginative and poetically cognitive mind of Mark Linkous. Despite physically existing as a condensed six-track EP, the Distorted Ghost experience is endless. A new version of "Happy Man" begins the set, providing a more clearer transmission of Linkous' lyrics than its Good Morning Spider predecessor; whilst new tracks grace the listener, such as the pensive "Waiting For Nothing" and the surrealistic psychological pop-laden "My Yoke Is Heavy." Two live tracks from the UK round it off. This EP is a beautiful small cache that acts like a map that will lead us to a much larger treasure trove that will be discovered later this year - the highly anticipated third full-length Sparklehorse album.
