Published Jul 22, 2010As a legendary producer and ambient music pioneer, Brian Eno has influenced just about every artist on the Warp Records roster. Now, rumour has it that Eno is planning to release a new album via Warp this fall, according to sources.
Although the news should still be considered tentative, the word is that Eno will be releasing a new album through the electronic label sometime in October/November. Unlike many of his recent releases, this new project is shaping up to be an Eno solo effort, not a collaboration.
In another Eno-related rumour, Roxy Music have hinted that they may be releasing new material. In an interview with BBC 6 Music , guitarist Phil Manzanera said, "Maybe we should do a track or two and do them as downloads. That would be an interesting approach."
Roxy Music will be hitting the road for a tour this summer, followed by a string of UK dates in early 2011. See the schedule here.
Also, word recently came that Eno has teamed up with David Byrne to contribute songs from their 2008 album Everything That Happens Will Happen Today for the upcoming film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. The soundtrack is due out on September 21.
