Sound And Fury

Sound and Fury

BY Ty TrumbullPublished Aug 19, 2008

This record breaks out of the gates at full speed with "Schools Out,” a fast-as-fuck rock’n’roll number that sounds like a pumped up Humpers. "Teenage Rampage” is the next track and features a more subdued sound, demonstrating a Ramones influence. From that point on this disc fast approaches parody but luckily never crosses over into it. These are sex, drugs and rock’n’roll, fist-pumping, denim-jacket-wearing, JD-drinkin’ tunes. The production creates a wall of guitars perfectly suited for this kind of music that will have you falling in line by the second listen. Sound and Fury are a straight-up rock’n’roll band that thankfully are always more sick than shtick.
