Something Weird Is Going On with the Nirvana Facebook Page

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Sep 29, 2016

Earlier this month, a wild conspiracy theory published by the Daily Mail purported that Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was alive and well living life as a Peruvian rockstar. The story was quickly debunked, most notably by the seminal grunge act's official Facebook page with a sarcastic message about the story written in Spanish. Since then, the page hasn't dialled back the hilarity in the least.

Not unlike other official band pages, the admin shares all types of Nirvana-related content from around the web, whether it be photos of Kurt meeting Colonel Sanders or music video casting call flyers. Things then get weird when posts are sometimes authored in a variety of languages, causing some fans to express their displeasure by deeming the admin's behaviour "unprofessional" or "disrespectful."

As you can see below, the admin broke one of the Internet's golden rules by reading the comments, and offered up some witty replies in return. Whether it be an Internet-savvy intern at Geffen or the spirit of Cobain running the page from beyond the grave, we salute you either way.
