Pop culture mashups tend to skew towards the zanier side of things, as people generally love to combine classic songs with Smash Mouth and/or the Seinfeld theme. Today, however, we're happy to present a mashup that works on its own as a bizarre and haunting pop tune.
A Twitter user named Andy has taken Angelo Badalamenti's iconic Twin Peaks theme and combined it with the 1962 Little Eva single "The Loco-Motion" (which was further popularized by a Kylie Minogue cover).
The result is some seriously fucked sounding chopped-and-screwed doo-wop. Fans of, say, the post-Women project Cindy Lee will surely enjoy this new take.
Listen to the Twin Peaks theme reimagined as a decidedly murky pop song below. Thanks to the AV Club for the tip.

Listening to the Twin Peaks soundtrack again. You really can get a gloomy version of The Loco-Motion out of the main theme tune. pic.twitter.com/tO3egPzVbD
