Solange Knowles Announces Kevin Barnes-Assisted Single

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 19, 2012

Back in the summer, Dirty Projectors head honcho Dave Longstreth hinted that he had been working on some new material with R&B singer Solange Knowles, though he didn't say when it would be released. It looks as if we'll have to wait a little longer for those songs to surface, but Knowles has, however, announced a new single will drop this October.

Knowles will deliver "Losing You" / "Sleep in the Park" digitally October 2, with a physical edition arriving on vinyl November 6 through Grizzly Bear bassist Chris Taylor's Terrible Records imprint. (You'll remember that Knowles had also teamed up with Taylor in the studio for their charity single "Kenya," which also featured Twin Shadow's George Lewis Jr.)

The A-side was co-composed with Dev Hynes (formerly of Test Icicles/Lightspeed Champion and now known as Blood Orange). You can catch a bit of the song in the make-out-party-themed teaser clip down below. The B-side, meanwhile, features a guest appearance from Of Montreal's Kevin Barnes. The pair previously got together on Of Montreal's 2010 set False Priest, duetting on "Sex Karma."
