Soja

'Amid the Noise and Haste' (album stream)

BY Matthew RitchiePublished Aug 5, 2014

International reggae all-stars Soja have built a hungry and dedicated fan base since the band's inception in 1997 thanks to tours with the likes of Incubus, the Dave Matthews Band and 311, as well as their 2012 Billboard Top 40 certified LP, Strength to Survive.

Now, the long-running Virginia-bred/D.C.-based dub unit are ready to issue the sixth album of their career. Amid the Noise and Haste won't be released by ATO Records/MapleMusic Recordings until August 12. While you wait, stream all of the band's positive progressions in their entirety on Exclaim.ca.

Produced by multiple Grammy Award-winning Jamaican producer Supa Dups (Eminem, Rihanna), Amid the Noise and Haste prides itself on being the first full-length album ever recorded in its entirety by the engineer. The result is a polished and pungent mix of party-hearty grooves, which is all the more aided by collaborations from the likes of Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley (dank dub number "Your Song"), Michael Franti (the uplifting "I Believe"), Collie Buddz (passionate summer sampler "She Still Loves Me") and many more.

Hear for yourself by listening to the album in the player below. The band have no plans to come north of the border for the remainder of the year, but just in case you'll be in Europe or the United States, check out the group's full tour itinerary here.
