After a 14-year run, Ontario pop-punk outfit the Snips have called it quits. The band broke the news earlier today (April 17) over Facebook.
"The Snips are done, broken up," they wrote. "THANK YOU so much for all of your love and support over the years, it didn't go unnoticed. All our upcoming shows have been cancelled."
The band had originally formed in Welland, ON, under the name the Ceremonial Snips, and blended touches of speedy punk with ska horns for early sets like 2004's Fuck the Pain, Bring the Noise. The band shortened their name to the Snips by the time they issued 2010's Blackouts and delivered their swansong Highs of Low in 2012.
Earlier this year, Snips bassist Mat Breton spoke to Exclaim! TV about the band's evolution and their place in the contemporary punk scene. You can watch the chat over here.
