Smiths Offered $50 Million to Reform, Johnny Marr Says
It's no big secret that a whole lot of people have been begging the Smiths to reunite in recent years. Little did we know, however, how badly some admirers want the legendary Brits to get back together. In a recent interview, guitarist Johnny Marr revealed that the Smiths have been offered no less than a whopping $50 million to reform.

Marr was recently asked by XFM about the continuing rumours that he and Morrissey would bury the hatchet and get the band back on stage. Apparently, Marr was hesitant to reply at first, but eventually said, "I think we were offered $50 million for three... possibly five shows. It's pretty obscene, it's pretty gross."

However, Marr said the band didn't bite and will not be cashing in. "It's absolutely nothing to do with money," he said. "It's really abstract, it's pretty random." And with the Moz saying he would "rather eat his own testicles" than reform the Smiths, a reunion is looking as unlikely as ever, $50 million or not.
