Smashing Pumpkins

"Blissed and Gone" (Drone Version)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 2, 2014

Smashing Pumpkins are previewing yet another track from the upcoming deluxe edition of 1998's Adore, this time bringing an extra-spacious version of previously issued B-side "Blissed and Gone" to the table.

Dubbed the "drone version" of the track, this version all but eviscerates the electronics-saturated beats of the original, which first appeared on the Still Becoming Apart EP in 2000. The newly revealed run-through puts a bigger focus on the echo of piano chords and Billy Corgan's plaintive vocals, as well as the haunting miasma of sustained guitar noise.

You can hear the minimalist version of "Blissed and Gone" down below courtesy of Consequence of Sound. It, along, with a trove of extra goodies, arrives on the deluxe Adore on September 23 through Virgin/UMe.
