Small Black

'Moon Killer' mixtape

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 11, 2011

While there's still no official word on when ethereal Brooklyn electro-pop quartet Small Black will follow up last year's New Chain LP, but the band's recently released Moon Killer mixtape should tide fans over in the meantime.

The outfit keep things ultimately airy on synth-heavy tracks like "Love's Not Enough," which plies dreamy vocals atop a Nicki Minaj sample, while Das Racist's Heems stops by to spit a guest verse on the sparkly '80s fantasy score-styled "Sunday Son." On top of the new tunes, there are also woozy remixes of "Photojournalist" and "New Chain" courtesy of Starslinger and Phonetag, respectively.
