"Breathless" (video)

It's officially fall, but a press release promises that the video for Small Black's "Breathless" is "a last burst of summer road trip before the weather turns."

The clip accompanying this danceable yet dreamy cut from this year's Limits of Desire includes shots of various youngsters living it up by jumping over campfires, smashing televisions, going to rodeos, swimming, fighting, doing backflips, making out and much more.

Director Nick Bentgen said in a statement, "[Frontman] Josh [Kolenik] and I talked about putting together a vibrant travelogue featuring young people throughout the American South and Southwest. I wanted this video to feel like flipping through a scrapbook of snapshot — a collage of raw, reckless moments. I drove all over Arizona and Tennessee with a small crew of filmmakers and we chased an experiential, documentary mode of production. We met kids at a rodeo in Arizona and went 4-wheeling with them, we crashed college parties in Memphis, and we got our hostess at a Chinese restaurant to be one of the stars of the video. Small Black's music has an incredibly cinematic sensibility, and we found that tone in the kids we met on the road."

Small Black are touring in Europe this fall. See the schedule here.
