There is an air of mystery surrounding the mask wearing, genre defying DJ known as Slow Magic. Although little is known about the artist behind the glowing guise, he has become an unmistakable figure. With elaborate costuming and otherworldly soundscapes, Slow Magic uses his performance art to create his own character, as well as an alternate reality to go with it.
During a recent stopover at Toronto's The Hoxton as part of his current So Cute! Tour with fellow producer Giraffage, Slow Magic invited Exclaim! TV to capture him performing a number from his latest album, How to Run Away. This rendition of "Waited 4 U" features a sweeping electronic soundscape, equally enchanting strobe lights and colourful projections. (The artist also hinted that the previously unheard melodies coursing through the tune might turn into some new material at a later date.)
