Saskatoon indie rock brigade Slow Down Molasses are gearing up for a new album, and to give us an idea of what to expect, the band have unveiled their new teaser track "Summer Sun," which you can now hear exclusively on Exclaim.ca.
The band's next record Burnt Black Cars is slated to arrive early next year and features producing credits from renowned Canadian studio guru Jace Lasek of Besnard Lakes.
Inspired by the wide-open spaces of their home province of Saskatchewan, Slow Down Molasses "craft expansive, texture-heavy pop songs that break into storm squalls of drone, delay and feedback,' as described by a recent press release.
You can hear what that sounds like for yourself, by catching the band at their Pop Montreal set on September 20 at Quai Des Brumes. But first, listen to the shoegaze-y new single "Summer Sun" in the player below.
